Customer Insights on the H100 Fuel Cell Stack

Customer Insights on the H100 Fuel Cell Stack
At Horizon Educational, we’re committed to pushing the boundaries of hydrogen fuel cell technology. One of our valued customers, Yu-Wei Lu from the Institut de Chimie Physique at Université Paris-Saclay, recently conducted an in-depth analysis of our H100 Fuel Cell Stack and its integration with lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. His findings not only validate the H100’s performance but also reveal exciting optimization opportunities that enhance efficiency and stability.
“I am an organic chemist and I study the creation of C-C bonds by electrochemical means, more precisely, electrooxidation of methane and its application in methane fuel cells” – Yuwei Lu, Universite Paris Saclay
With its high stability, adaptability, and efficient energy conversion, the H100 is an ideal choice for researchers, educators, and innovators exploring the future of hydrogen power systems. Whether used in academic studies, prototype development, or educational programs, this fuel cell stack provides a reliable and scalable solution for those looking to harness the power of clean hydrogen energy.
The H100 Fuel Cell: A Powerful, Stable Energy Source
1. A Hybrid Power Solution
By integrating the H100 fuel cell stack with a lithium-ion accumulator, Yu-Wei Lu discovered a significant boost in power stability. The composite system showed:
- Better voltage stability compared to lithium-ion cells alone.
- Enhanced power regulation, making the fuel cell a more usable and reliable electrical source.
- Efficient energy storage and release, ensuring a seamless balance between energy demand and supply.
2. Hydrogen Supply: Performance Insights
One of the most compelling findings was that the H100 fuel cell maintains performance even with a significant reduction in hydrogen pressure. Testing at pressures from 0.5 bar to 0.15 bar showed that the system's chemical stability remains unaffected, meaning:
- Lower hydrogen pressure does not impact performance in composite systems.
- Reduced pressure optimizes hydrogen usage, cutting waste and boosting efficiency.
3. Potential for Optimization
While the H100 already performs exceptionally well, Yu-Wei Lu identified two key improvements that could make it even more efficient:
- Optimizing airflow – Reducing fan speed could improve oxygen reduction and unlock up to 60% more power.
- Lowering hydrogen supercharging – Using half the recommended hydrogen pressure doesn’t impact performance but reduces waste.
Why Choose the H100?
The H100 Fuel Cell Stack is a proven and versatile solution for hydrogen-powered applications. This independent analysis confirms that:
- It offers stable, high-quality power when used alone or in hybrid systems.
- It operates efficiently even at lower hydrogen pressures, making it more cost-effective.
- It has room for optimization, meaning users can fine-tune performance to suit their specific needs.
