Las Vegas Declares September 13th 'H2GP' Day
The City of Las Vegas has officially declared September 13th 2023 as ‘The Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix World (H2GP) Final Day’. Known for hosting some of the world’s biggest and most specular global events, the neon city will welcome H2GP teams from around the world this September for the latest iteration of the annual hydrogen-fuelled competition.
‘We’re thrilled that the City of Las Vegas has decided to welcome our students from 20+ countries with this recognition of the Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix’, said Kamil Jelinek, CEO of Horizon Educational. ‘Many of our students have never been outside their countries ever before, and we’re delighted to provide an opportunity for children to not only learn about renewable energy technology, but to experience one of the most exciting, dynamic, and entertaining cities in the world’.
This official proclamation from the office of Mayor Carolyn Goodman is a milestone for H2GP. The program started around 7 years ago with an initial pilot program in the United States before expanding throughout Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. School teams from 20+ countries including Australia, the US, Canada, Germany and Singapore are currently putting the final touches on their hydrogen-powered cars in preparation for this year's final.
The H2GP Las Vegas World Final will take place at RE+ Las Vegas, North America’s largest clean energy conference. Every year the conference brings together over 30,000 renewable energy professionals and 1000+ exhibiting companies to experience an in-depth education program led by industry experts. These industry professionals will therefore get an opportunity to see the work of H2GP students and give feedback on their skills and progress.
